I love how Holly can use her skills she learned from her family for good- to solve crimes, etc....

I really liked that Holly didn't sit on the sidelines. She was always trying to be involved in Robert's work. She was spunky. I liked that she was kind and a good person despite coming from a murky background. And I loved that she was beautiful and how Robert would look at her and melt.

Holly was nice, kindly, ironic and funny. She loves her friends and her husband very much and she would do everything for them. She was sexy, sweet and purposeful. She was the only woman for a man like Robert

She was fairly calm and understanding/non-judgmental, but NOT a pushover. She had a breaking point and would not hesitate to call someone out when they deserved it - including dear hubby.

I loved the snoop in her. If she sniffed out a mystery or a caper, she wanted in and wanted to solve it. Like in 1992 when she meets Faison for the "first" time and she calmly starts going through his drawer while he's in the other room. I remember thinking instantly---that's my Holly. She knew something was off and just had to snoop.

Like when he couldn't understand why Luke felt betrayed by their marriage. She said, "Think about it, Robert. Put yourself in his position. If you were him, are you so sure you wouldn't feel exactly the same way?"

She certainly never gave up easy, and kept the men in her life on their toes. She was warm, caring, loving, empathetic, loyal, and sympathetic, strong and resilient (with Robert's help), and had a great sense of humor, and a thirst for adventure.

Where do I begin.... Holly was a catalyst for so many cool things that happened in 1983-85 on that show. She brought a "screwball comedy" edge that was so popular in 40's classic movies. Also, she brought good taste, good sensibility and levity to an otherwise ridiculous medium known as the soap opera. Holly was the the glue that kept everyone together and Robert was the pillar of the community that kept all the shenanigans and chaos (the Q's,Luke, Scotty) from spinning out of control....that's what made them special. They were the grown ups and everyone went to them for reassurance. The thing was she never intentionally set out to be a leader....it sort of just happened. Like falling for the commissioner. That storyline was really one of a kind and I'm glad I was on that ride in "real time" back in 1982-1985.

Welcome to the Board, Danigirl!! You are so right about Holly and about Robert & Holly as a couple. They were the perfect combination of class, intelligence, fun and sexiness. They were the couple who knew just the right amount of PDA to display in public that made people wonder "I wonder what they do at home?" LOL!! Sexy but never tacky!!
Holly brought out so many sides of Robert that we never saw until she came along. We saw Robert fall in love and show a soft, vulnerable side that even he didn't know existed. She also brought out his protective side--often to a a fault, because he treated Holly like a fragile doll at times (much to her frustration). We've never seen Robert display so many emotions as he did with Holly--before or since. That's why they are the ultimate love story & why all of us are so pissed that Guza torpedoed their history (along with basically all of GH's history). Like you, I am so glad that I lived RnH in real time. Those who didn't see this couple during that time don't understand, but when they see the clips on YouTube, they usually become converts!!

Thanks Louisa! I'm really glad that you replied to my post. I didn't think anyone would. I'm not really sure how to navigate my way through this board. Maybe u can help me out? No pressure. I wanted to post that on October 26 1916 Tristan Rogers congratulated Emma samms on twitter for receiving MBE from Queen, however not sure how to do this. Maybe someone is already on top of it... Also, I wanted to know if anyone else had read that Tristan Rogers had two English bulldogs and one of them was named Holly....is this true? Can't be a coincidence ....and I'm not sure if I like that ....but I do like the idea that at least once a day he says Holly in that beautiful Australian accent of his. I used to love they way he said her name when he walked through the front door. Anyway, I digress. LOL

We tend to ebb & flow on this board, depending on what's going on with GH and with Tristan and/or Emma. Have you looked at the different sections of the board? I would recommend clicking on each of them to get a feel of moving around on them.
As to Tristan's bulldogs, there was an article spotlighting his home in Palm Springs, and the article stated that his bulldogs' names were Willow & Holly. However, I read somewhere else (that, of course, I can't find now), that was a mistake, and the dog's name isn't Holly. :-)
The exchange between Tristan & Emma on Twitter when he congratulated her on her MBE was adorable! They interact every so often on Twitter, and it's always so cute, and you can tell they still have a lot of affection for one another. As far as posting it, that would be something posted under the "Emma Samms Updates" section. Give it a shot! I'm surprised no one else has done it yet, but these last few weeks have been crazy with the election, etc.

I totally agree with everything you said and would add her sense of loyalty. And what a perfect way to describe them. "the grown ups" of the show. So true. Like you and Louisa, I'm glad I got to see them first hand back in 1982-85. No story will ever match watching big bad womanizer Robert falling in love. I for one never liked Robert when he first appeared. He used women like they were toys. Once he got his fill, he just moved on to another one. Holly made him realize he had a heart and something was missing from it. She made him want to be something no other woman ever made him want, a wife and family.
