One of the most dramatic things that happened to Robert Scorpio in 1983 is that he became Police Commissioner of Port Charles. He was no longer a superspy. Do you think this was a good thing or a bad thing? What did you like about it? What did you not like about it?

Well it may have limited his adventure somewhat. But really, there was only going to ever be one Ice Princess storyline, and nothing could match that. If he had stayed in the WSB he would have been all over the world, certainly not settled down in PC, and we never would have had Robert and Holly. I think it all comes down to that.
The WSB did bring him in on a few cases, so that spiced things up a bit. If he were police commisioner now, the mob would not be running Port Charles!

Wasn't Robert fired from the WSB when he distroyed the Ice Princess secret?

I think the Police Commissioner allowed him into multiple storylines and gave us a lot of Robert and Holly. Who can complain about that?
I liked it because it allowed him to interact with a majority of the cast and he and Holly had so many great conversations about his cases! It brought them closer together!

Wasn't Robert fired from the WSB when he distroyed the Ice Princess secret? Yeah, I seem to remember it that way. It would have been kind of interesting had he chosen to go over to the other side, instead of being the Commish. I think TR would have played badass very well. That said, though, I'm glad he stayed on the side of the good guys.

I don't care what they tried to sell in 85 about him turning a blind eye to Anna's tratorous ways, Robert is a moral guy down to his core. It was Robert that insisted on turning in Holly during the Oil Scam.

I agree. Tristan could have played a bad guy very well. But for me, I absolutely LOVED that he played the good guy and he never became boring. To me, that is the true testament of an actor. You hear actors all the time wanting to play the bad guy because it gives them more layers (think Tony Geary) but I give more kudos to Tristan for keeping the good guy interesting.

I think Robert had excellent support in his role as Commish. He always had a team and that helped bring in more characters, more drama, and more interesting cases

I do have to say that it seemed like Robert was the only detective on the squad. Either that or he demoted the other detectives once he became Commish.

I agree that Robert needed to be the star of the show but when Robert was shown with other police they were always uniformed officers.

I'm glad he became the commish. ;D I don't think I would have cared for him as a bad guy, I fell in love with the tender side of him. the mr. go to guy ! And being a spy might have taken him away like they did with Frisco

I liked nice guy Robert the Commish, but I did love the occasional ass-kicking he dished out.
