I'm re watching when Holly went to the casino to talk to Luke about the prometheus disk. It's clear that at that point she was completely Robert's wife. She was concerned about Luke but it's all. And when she come back to home, for the first time she was completely relaxed and very sweet with Robert. I love how he tried to be angry with her but he couldn't ;D (Obviously I hate Holly's dress when she was at the casino. And the necklace.... Luckily when she talked with Robert she wore her nice black kimono )

ITA. The pattern of Holly sleuthing and Robert not wanting her involved really starts getting fleshed out here. I wonder if Robert's work is part of why Holly chooses him; I know she likes his 'fight the good fight' ethic (which is why finding out about Anna & Robert covering for her is so huge), but I'm thinking she's almost as attracted to his work as she is him!

Good point, rhda. I think she fell in love with Robert but she also found his work fascinating and fun. That was part of the allure. She told Robert once that danger was in her blood and it was hard for her to stay away from it. It certainly kept the Scorpio marriage lively and interesting.

I'm re watching when Holly went to the casino to talk to Luke about the prometheus disk. It's clear that at that point she was completely Robert's wife. ITA..It was very clear to the audiences and most importantly to Luke. He had a real bad attitude toward Holly in the scene. He knew that the woman he'd love was gone and the woman standing before him was Robert's wife. I've alway loved detective Holly moreso than the blink and miss con-woman. I would've really loved it if they had made her a cop working with Sean in 1992 instead of putting her in some flop romance.

I don't know about a cop, but she definitely could have taken over the P.I. biz that Anna & Robert had started.

I think Robert's work provided the excitement she missed(needed?) in her life and a more positive force.
They were a perfect match in marriage and vocations.

I loved how Holly had good instincts about the bad guys like Hannibal and Leo.Although Robert was overprotective(as usual) he finally admitted that she was a good detective.I wonder if he would have opened a PI business witth her instead of you know who. They made a great detecting team, mixing it up with crime solving and love.

The P.I. biz with Anna was a cover for his WSB mission, once that was done, he didn't like it much and was not there long before he ended up as commissioner again. I doubt he would have done that with Holly; he was too overprotective of her and he didn't like the types of cases Anna, Felicia and eventually Sean ended up taking (missing and/or cheating spouses, business swindles). Holly would have loved those, though...

I loved Holly the detective. It is one of the endearing qualities she has that makes her so charming. Unfortunately by 2006/2009 they ignored that completely---but I remember even in 1992 when she gets Barry to distract Faison so she can go snooping through his stuff how I was like---that's my girl !

I loved when Holly the detective broke into the Webber house looking for evidence to bring down Ginny.

IA Robert didn't much care for the det agency once the WSB aspect of it was over. He really hated the cases he worked on with Felicia. In his own words to Sean. "He's a field operator and used to a certain amount of activities and excitements and Scorpio and Devane det agency weren't doing it for him He thought the clients were weird and their problems were even weirder. I'm watching Robert's edits and there a lot of scenes and even more Holly's mentions from 87 that isn't even posted on youtube. BTW Holly would've made a excellent P.I.

Holly would've kicked butt as a PI.
And Robert had to be the most realistic grieving widower in the history of soaps !

I agree that Holly would kick butt as a PI but I've never really wanted to see her toting a gun. She isn't the Laura Holt type. She is a unique mold that was promptly broken after first pour.

I don't think Emma would have had Holly carry a gun. But Holly would rock as a detective. She has the brains and intuition to really solved the cases. She probably wouldn't have minded the less-exciting cases because they would have had another appeal to her. Holly is/was more of the figure it out type. Columbo (although that is the furtherest from style from her) never needed or carried a gun.
