I have a question for everbody. Did anybody watch Robins arrival during the 1st run? and if so did you realize that she was going to be Roberts daughter right away?

Yep. I knew it right away. She looked to be about 7 years old and looked like Anna.
The other clue for me was that I thought it was very strange that Emma's last day was on a Thursday (back in the days of Friday cliffhangers). Then the very last scene on Friday's episode is where KMc tells TR "Hi, my name is Robin." It was obvious.

Her name was kind of a giveaway, too ...

Yes, I was definitely watching and yes, I was filled with dread that this was Robert's kid with Anna. Hated it.

I knew. In fact, I sort of guessed a little earlier. When the Azetc Treasure story was finally concluding and Anna thought Robert was dead, she said to Frisco and Felicia that there was something she'd never told Robert. And then when she saw Robert alive and back with Holly, and Frisco reminded her of what she said, she replied that there was really no point in telling him now. I thought, "Uh-oh." On Emma's last day, they ran the closing credits, and I saw the name "Robin" in the cast list. I remember thinking, "Well, I guess we know what happens tomorrow!"

Luckily I didn't watch at the time... My grandmother told me and I thought I had to say bye-bye to my happy end. I hated it.

In my memory, I remember Robin arriving but for some reason I thought it was on the same air day as Emma leaving, but I guess it was the next day. I remember watching Robins arrival not realising she was Roberts until that saturday after her arrival episode. Back then the local newspaper would write about soap recaps for the week and I thought it was real funny because the newspaper said that her name was Roberta not Robin. When the newspaper wrote Roberta I then realized where the story was going. I dont think I knew who she was before then I think I was to upset about Emma leaving and I really was not interested in watching GH anymore

Yes And as Lakes pointed out, it was so beyond OBVIOUS. Oh and BTW, I hated every minute of it.

I remember Robin's arrival and it was obvious that she was Robert's daughter. I also remember thinking it was a stupid move by the writers and there was no purpose for bringing Robin on.
But it has never been proven that Robin is really Robert's daughter since there have never been any blood tests (1980s paternity test) or DNA tests. Since Anna was a double agent at the time there's an excellent chance Robin isn't a Scorpio.

I think part of it was motivated by the fact that he fell in love with the girl. Before Anna showed up at the townhouse looking for Robin, Robert had commented to either Frisco or Felicia that if the grandmother couldn't be found that he would like to take her to Australia for he and Holly to raise as their daughter.

It would have been plausible, but I wouldn't like it now. In late '85 or early '86, yes, I probably would have cheered. But, I didn't even like the stuff about Faison and Anna that was suggested in '92. It took a lot of time for Anna to be redeemed for me and it seems like the writers wanted to throw '86-'90 Anna away when they did the second Faison story. I'd much prefer a rewrite of '06-09 Holly to dragging Anna down in the mud with her.

I don't think I'd like them retconning Robin's paternity now either. To me, she is Robert's daughter. However, I would fully welcome GH retconning Ethan's paternity anytime! LOL!
