The Prometheus Disk had enough energy in it to power a rocket into outer space. It promised to have all sorts of potential but was highly volatile as it could blow up the entire city if it wasn't stored properly.
It always seemed preposterous that they would plan an entire fair around the PS before it was even completed or tested. The Professor only mentioned as an after thought that the disk could blow up like a bomb if not handled properly. Did the University know this?

The Prometheus Disc storyline was like the Ice Princess storyline - it was kind of stupid but somehow TPTB really wove a lot of the characters around it and THAT became compelling. The Disc and the Princess were secondary to the characters. Always. I remember people making fun of those storylines but it wasn't about that - it was about the characters. And I really enjoyed both storylines. Especially The Prometheus Disc as it drew Robert and Holly closer.

AND you know I felt like the Prometheus disk story line was one that showed Roberts deep feeling about Holly, Yes you saw that Robert loved Holly and he said it often but............ that part on the couch with Connie AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Yeah, that was sweet, but at this time wasn't Holly still struggling with her feelings for Robert. That whole casino scene scared me. I really loved the storyline, but it did drag out, didn't it? Robert and Holly spent far too much time apart. But it did give us a chance to see how desperately they wanted to get back to each other.

I agree. I went on far too long. Emma and Sherilyn had to be SICK of those robes! And I didn't like Robert and Holly spending that much time apart. R&H's strength was always those little every day scenes.

When you get down to it, what adventure/mystery s/l didn't last too long?

The Ice Princess Storyline didn't drag for me because, well, my three favorite characters were together the whole time. Sure they weren't on everyday, but it was all for one and one for all. You didn't see Robert and not see Luke n Laura.
I think the disc storyline dragged for me because Holly and Robert were apart, and I so couldn't wait for the reunion.

As much as I enjoyed the characters in the Ice Princess s/l, I was so ready for the s/l end.

If you think about it most of the adventure s/l are stupid, shallow storyline but it is the interaction of the characters and the actors that makes the s/l compelling.
For example, the tension of Luke and Holly being thrown together during the PD s/l made the story compelling.
The Mexico s/l would have been boring without Tristan and Tony's adlibbing, mixed in with Emma.

I think what made the PD storylline drag for me was, Holly and Robert were apart for too long. It seemed to go on forever. I just wanted him to find her and take her home!!
Plus, it always irritated me that Robert refused to tell her so much, and even locked her out of the computer room at times.

I would take that every day over some of the angst other couples got.
