As I've said countless times, I have no desire to watch this GH that is on TV these days. Still haven't turned it on since the day I found out that Duke was dead again.
With that being said, who needs to watch when you have the Twitterverse?? Apparently after this Julexis wedding shooting, and people were taken to the hospital, THE DOCTORS TREATING THE PATIENTS AREN'T EVEN CHARACTERS IN THE CAST!! They were extras!! No Felix, Epiphany. . .etc.
One user posted "Who are these doctors on GENERAL HOSPITAL??!!"--along with a pic of two random dudes in doctor's coats examining people. I almost choked from laughing so hard!! I responded "Well, they promised we'd get back to the hospital, but never said it would be with the actual characters!" 
The more I read about GH these days, the more I'm convinced that all ABC needs is a cheaper lifestyle show to catch on and GH is outta here. The production quality and writing all seems to be hanging by a thread. But between the warring Jasam/Liaison fanbases, the Morgan, Kiki, Hayden, etc. hatred, and just overall jaded viewers, I get my soap opera fix from reading the Tweets & the Gifs!!  |

I don't think ABC wants to be the first network to not have a soap, so they're reluctantly holding on. Now they have just announced a new Daytime executive though, so I wonder how well that bodes for GH. I'm reading a lot about how the network is continuing to focus on some hard-line cost-cutting.
This seems to be the weakest Sweeps that GH has ever had; could you even tell that it was Sweeps time?? I continue to be amazed at what is happening to this show. To me, it's like the writers are creating an entirely new show & just using the name "General Hospital". This show that's on ABC in the afternoons is NOT General Hospital!!

I can't really say anything about this sweeps because I've only watched one episode this month and that was yesterday. I was not impressed in the least by it. Going by that, yeah very weak sweeps. I saw the headline that two women are taking over in 2 postions. Didn't care enough to read it though. If they really wanna save GH then I hope they know that the show needs to step away from the mob and stop making Sonny the "good" bad guy. He's a thug and needs to go to jail for life. They also need to give the PCPD some brains cause God knows the last Police Commissioner that had any sense at all was Robert. The rest have been laughable. And a good thought would be since the show is called General Hospital maybe have some of the major players be doctors or nurses. That would be novel for this show.  We haven't seen that since the Steve Hardy and Jessie Brewer days. I just feel like they keep stabbing the show wanting to kill it but afraid of making that fatal blow. Right now the show's slowly bleeding out and well since there's no doctors on General Hospital ... they're just watching it die. This show has been slowly bleeding out since the late '90s/2000. There may have been a few bright spots but on the whole, this show has been going downhill for a long time. |
