I'm guessing that perhaps Tristan and Emma went to the drive-thru together. ;D IMO, this was definitely an ad-lib by Tristan.

TR/Robert did have a thing about the drive-in. He mentioned it a few times. Remember the 1984- romance should be taken out of the motels and put back in the drive-ins where it belongs.
