I thought Holly was the next best thing for Luke after Laura so I (oddly enough) had a hard time letting go of Luke and Holly while Robert and Holly were falling in love. But I did. Nothing could stand in the way of the juggernaut that was Robert and Holly's love. I didn't stand a chance. Love this

[ Laura, if I was a newbie and asked by the king of daytime if I minded if he did the scene nude, I probably would have said I was fine with it too. But like Emma, I probably wouldn't have looked. LOL. LOL!! Love Emma And if it was a way to seduce Emma it wasn't a good idea. Tristan probably was not naked in their loved scenes but Emma looked him, obviously. LOL ;D

I hope by the time of Holly/Bill, I hope she had enough clout to tell him to keep his pants on! Again, yuck!

i doubt that happened in 92. Yes, when I talked about Bill and Holly ( ) I meant the kisses between Tony and Emma, cold even in the tube and in the bed

I'd gotten burned once sticking with GH until the day AFTER Valentine's 1991, wasn't going to put myself through that kind of eye-burning hell again

RHDA, you're a smart woman. LOL! I remember falling away from GH during the Bill and Holly year(s). It just seemed so FORCED to me. I think Mac and Holly would have been better but I know I wouldn't have even liked that half as much as Robert and Holly. I was sad when Emma left GH and I wished Tristan could have come back and Robert and Holly could have rode off into the sunset. But I can't control what actors want to do. But then Genie came back to GH and Tony became Luke again and that was so much better. Bill Eckert was just a bust!

I wanted Mac and Holly, too - for the same reasons you said, and I really thought they were going there until, ick, Bill. Really, has a guy named BILL ever been a big time soap hero? The name alone did that character in. (So sorry if there's anybody on here named Bill or in love with a Bill ) I think the whole bring the actor back as a different character is just bad ... has it ever worked? Petros Cassadine was okay, I guess

I just really wonder why GH insists on putting Luke/Bill and Holly together. They were OK in the beginning but not that great.

If I remember correct they were really on the fence about whether to go with Mac or Bill. In the end, they decided they couldn't do Mac because he was her brother-in-law. I kind of see the point---Mac would probably always wonder if Holly was with him for him or because she saw Robert in him. But that being said, Emma and John had delightful chemistry together. I totally enjoyed the Mac/Holly friendship and I am glad they got at least one decent scene together last May.

I was kinda glad they didn't have Holly with Robert's little brother. I think it would have been a bit strange. I really liked their friendship.
even then, i think TG wanted to work with ES. In her Intimate Portrait he gushes about her.

You know it's funny, I've been watching this story (thanks to no2souls) because of course I wanted to see Holly's beginnings. Burt and Robert's relationship is what seems interesting to me the most, because it's very different than what it became later. Especially more pre-Canada when he's almost going against Bert to find the truth about Luke and not sharing with the police. Seems a bit Un-Robert like. During Canada, I felt Robert became more like how I know him when he kept suggesting to Luke that they go to the DIM.
As for the Luke and Holly stuff, I don't know what to think of their relationship. After the the truth came out about Holly's involvement, there doesn't seem to be much to Holly and Luke. They are just sort of... blah. Or maybe it's the story since they are apart, but RH remained interesting when apart in the Prometheius Disc. I don't know, maybe I'm just rambling.
I do think that LH relationship lacks the fun humor that RH had, which is strange me saying since I would describe Luke himself as being a comical character. Maybe it's that there aren't as many day to day little moments and banter like with RH is what I'm trying to say.

Burt and Robert's relationship is what seems interesting to me the most, because it's very different than what it became later. Well he does give up his badge/take a leave a couple of times later (going after Sean in '85 and Faison in '92) so he doesn't have to follow police rules. I think the should have used some of these flashbacks to explain Burt becoming Mr. Big. B/C really, they could have made his resentment of Robert more believable if they'd shown how Robert had thumbed his nose at Burt in his pre-commish days...
