I'm a veteran "guest," and I've long been silently grateful to all of you for keeping me company in my Robert and Holly love. Now I can thank you in a more concrete way. I've finally registered so I can answer the mystery of RnH's sax music, which I've just discovered. (I'm especially glad that Mike was the one who raised the question in this thread. Mike, your unflagging optimism boosts my own and makes me smile. I'm happy to have a way to repay you!) It's a piece by David Sanborn called "Love Will Come Someday" from his 1981 album As We Speak. My frustrating search for the Mexican pool music continues. I'll let you know if I ever find it. To everyone at this wonderful site, all the generous YouTube posters and talented fan fiction writers, thank you. You've brought me such pleasure and helped me survive Guza's nightmare. And now, Robert's back! I'm anxious for today and what he'll say about Holly. But thanks to Cartini, I'm confident that RnH are finally on their way to happily ever after! Oh my. I am SO sorry this has gone unnoticed by me for like a month!! It was just brought to my attention tonight by Michele! I do not have words enough to thank you for solving the mystery of the decades! I just bought his whole CD off of Amazon with this song on it. I am so happy I can't believe it!! I heard this song once in a store back in the 80's which led me to believe it was a real song and not just a GH creation. I am sitting here tonight drinking wine, rather buzzed and this incredible mystery is solved thanks to you! I am so happy and grateful! Welcome to our board. I am so sad I missed this post for so long. You capped off my 2012 so wonderfully with this! I think this is a good sign. 2013 will be the year we finally see our couple truly reunited and Ethan as their son. It's coming, I just know it !!

Mike, Im so glad that you have heard the sax music! I was pleasantly surprised when I first heard it and actually had a chance to hear the whole song. I do think that finding the lost sax music this year was the best and a very good sign. Oh by the way I think I was a little buzzed when I first heard the whole song. lol

Yes, it has to be a good sign! It sounds like they are determined to recast Ethan so I think our story is coming. They have handled Duke and Anna so well, I think it will be Robert and Holly's turn in 2013---during their 30th anniversary year.

And the only thing I want in 2013 is for Robert and Holly to have a real wedding. I may be in the minority but I think Robert and Holly did have a real wedding. Their wedding is the reason why I feel in love them. They renegotiated the terms of marriage for the better but what couple doesn't do that. I don't need a wedding redux just some quality Robert and Holly time together with a bit happily ever after thrown in will make my new year a happy one! Robert and Holly alone in the scene is magic. I want some magic in the new year (hmmm without interruptions please).

By "real' I mean the whole lavish wedding like they did for Luke and Laura. Only this time the town idiot can be Robert's best man. Haha.

I want some magic in the new year (hmmm without interruptions please). I know absolutely that I cannot lay claim to knowing everything that was said in the 2012 return of Holly as most of it was very disheartening and sickening to me, but wasn't there a part where Holly was talking to Gufus and mentioned divorce and how hard it is on everyone? It'd have to be Robert that she divorced. So in order to have them in the happy ever after, we'd need at least the mention of a new ceremony, like maybe them coming into the Townhouse with Robert in a tux and her in a wedding gown, heading up to the bedroom and both turn their phones off...ah yeah! I would go back and watch it to see but I saved it without sound. Seriously I never wanted to accidentally click on one of those scenes to hear Holly say that the town idiot was the father of her kid. It was actually 2009 and Holly was talking to Robin. What happened was- Robin said she didn't know what happened to Holly. That she was always so nice. What happened? Holly kinda shrugged her shoulders and looked away and replied that she supposed divorce isn't easy on anyone. That's it. I wouldn't be adverse to seeing Robert & Holly remarry or renew their vows- but to be honest...I don't need it. It was always the relationship that made the marriage- not the wedding. In fact, they were always opposite of other couples. Other couples had big lavish weddings- but the couple didn't fare so well afterwards. Where Robert and Holly had a modest wedding- no pomp and circumstance- but they defied the marriage curse. They were so good together. They were never boring, didn't need a 3rd party... they just had *IT*. I would be more than happy to see that relationship between them again. That is more of what is important to me. Fix the mess and restore their connection/relationship.

To be honest, I don't take that line to even mean they are legally divorced. They have not been a couple since 1987. I took it to mean that her life took these bad turns because her life with Robert ended. I think it was Guza's lazy way of saying that---divorce is the simplest way to describe it. Holly knows Robert drew up divorce papers and she ripped them up---but they never got back together again so to all intents and purposes she considers them divorced even if it isn't actually legal. And she may not even consider the legality due to Robert having been believed dead for so long.
So bottom line---I don't see them as ever having been legally divorced. When did it happen? Between 2006-2009, off screen? I don't buy it.

RnH deserve their happy ending...we've only been waiting 30 years for it, darn it! Re the Oil Scam, I liked that the attraction between RnH was there from there start and that they really weren't consciously aware of it but it was drawing them to each other the whole time. And even when they did realize it, they didn't act upon it immediately but really got to know each other first. I think that's the beauty of their relationship, their temperaments were really suited to each other and everything else fell right into place. That's the only credit I will ever give Jackie - she saw that tidal wave coming, and all the raging against it couldn't do a thing to stop it, lol!
