As much as I didn't like most of the stuff in 1992 This scene always brings a little smile to my face, as we got to see just a bit of the old Robert/Holly magic that we all loved!! Damn, TR & Emma still had the "chem" going on in spades even in a little scene like this one.

I agree. I also like that scene of them having dinner in the restaurant in 1992.
One of the things that I think TR and ES have that a lot of other couples and supercouples don't have is that ability to make the mundane scenes special. They just have that special something together.

They just have that special something together. Absolutely!!!!That kind specialness only comes along once or maybe twice in a lifetime with the best of the best soap couples. How lucky we were that TR and ES had that in spades!!! I had forgot about that one R. Thanks for the reminder. Although, that scene just makes me all kinds of.. I loved the part where Robert is kinda pacing and Holly suggests he have some tea. Immediately, he seems like he is going to say no, but he sees the tea set and thinks better of it. I think it was like a flash to the past and suddenly, he reconsiders it..which naturally leads to a moment for our favorite couple.
I also liked the scene where she teases him about making lists about everything while he works out a case.

They seem to have magic in every scene. I wish 2006 had been written half as well as 1992.

Here's another scene where their chemistry was shining through in 1992. Another moment that was interrupted.

I love the nod to history with the story of Rebecca.

I love the nod to history with the story of Rebecca. That's another thing. Look how many nods to history there were. Right from the start when Holly and Mac get in that elevator together----they play How Do You Keep the Music Playing and she sees Robert's eyes. I totally cheered in that moment. This is pre-Guza and Phelps but I still had this little fear that they might slight Robert and Holly for Anna. The second they did that, I knew my Holly still loved Robert every bit as much and they were not gonna forget the past. They even played that music from 1985 during their reunion stuff and then the funeral they played Greatest Love Affair----we got flashbacks, we got Rebecca mentions----they totally reveled in the history between these characters rather than spit on it the way GH does now.

Mike Wrote: they totally reveled in the history between these characters rather than spit on it the way GH does now. Considering that this was written in 2010, I wonder how one could describe 2012... I haven't been able to watch many of the clips from 2012 - hearing Robert so negative about Holly, and Anna's accusatory words (of all people! ) - I find it all so shocking that I just can't watch. I'll never shake the feeling that Anna was a homewrecker. Why bring Emma back just to trash Holly in the way that they have? The 92 return was traumatic enough, but the love was still there; the story of why Holly stayed away was pretty ludicrous, but she was still a warm, caring person. 2012 Holly is unrecognizable to me.

I rewatched 92' the other day. When I watched it when it first aired, I was severely depressed! However, after re-watching these scenes, I see so much chemistry between RnH. When I do not see the chemistry, I see Robert pulling away from Holly......as if to keep his guard up and protect his feelings. After all, he has not come to grips with why Holly stayed away. In one scene with Bobbi in which she questions him about Holly being alive and not calling or writing, he looks so sad...but he immediately stated that all he was concerned about was getting Anna back...the Scorpio pride and ego. I would love to have seen how it all would have played out if Tristan and Finola had not left! I have a feeling it would have been a triangle to end all triangles. I suppose what I did not like about '92 was the fact that RnH were deeply in love for 5 years. They shared so much, and he was devastated by her death! He and Anna's two marriages combined didn't last a year, and they became just friends and co-parents. Love does not die, and RnA reconnection seemed so forced! I just could not buy it!

I think the scene you mention is when Bobbie was like why would Holly stay away, she loved you so much etc... and Robert replies he still hasn't dealt with that yet(emotionally) and kinda shuts down and goes into work mode. You know he was so hurt and he still loved Holly so much. He didn't understand why she was acting the way she was...and she was too busy being so damn noble. haha. If only she hadn't been so noble, she would have told him how she felt and damn-- it would be ON
