You knew when they were both at the same party, they were going to see each other. So many near misses and then finally that moment. I loved Robert's reaction. At first, he's completely stunned and then completely elated. ;D

Yes, all the near misses were KILLING me..........it was good suspenseful writing.
I didn't buy the part about her being able to sneak away from him, but he found her eventually. And of course, here is the clip

I have to say that except for Mac and Dominque, Robert sure looked out of place at that party.

Emma was absolutely gorgeous in 1992. So was Tristan. Lookswise, I think they both hit their peak in 1992.

I would agree with that. There was something about Robert in 92 and I can't pinpoint what it was. Maybe it was the fantastic acting combined with the great hair!

Well, 92 had the angst on full tilt. Except for Luke returning from the dead and to a lesser degree the Beatrice Murder s/l and Anna appearing out of nowhere, Robert and Holly lived a angst free life. I think that Tristan and Emma's acting skills had really matured by 92 too.

I really felt that 92 was out of character for Robert. His initial reaction was right on, after that...........not so much. I think he would have ecstatic to see her, and not shown so much anger.
That said, however, it was such wonderful angst.........sigh............They both knocked it out of the park, and let us know with their eyes and body language that these characters still loved each other. ( even if the lines in the script didn't say so )

Oh, I agree Robert was out of character. 80's version of Robert would have swooped up Holly and made love to her right there and then. But we had writers that were writing for Robert and Anna and had to someone (cough) acknowledge that (cough). I wish Tristan's version could have taken place where Holly had been kidnapped. Oh well.

I think if Robert had not been "married" to Anna, then they could've done the whole swooping Holly in his arms. But they couldn't and I think that's why they did the whole thing about Holly waking up and still staying away. It gave Robert a reason to be hurt and angry so that they would have a roadblock to just falling into each other's arms.
But it was all wonderfully acted and Emma definitely looked stunning. I loved her long hair ! It was so great having her back. I hope we see Robert and Holly on our screens again this year !

I think this was some of their finest acting together. He is so torn between being so happy she is back and being so hurt that she would have ever stayed away.
And she was torn between telling him how she felt and doing what she thought was the right thing, by keeping her distance. and despite everything, they still fall into this easy dynamic together, but with unresolved sexual tension. That last scene together was so powerful and yet it hardly had a lot of dialogue.
and too be weird, one of my favorite shots is when he sees her and they show his reflection in the mirror and she rises into the frame.

I sometimes liked Holly's hair in 92 and sometimes I thought it was a mess.

Oh that very first time we see her with those long, wavy locks of dark hair----I was smitten all over again like I was when we first saw her on the mountain in 1982 !
