Yeah, it did have a lot of unimportant people. But through Paul, there was Tracy which got the Q's under the umbrella. Edward's return was involved. Tony was investigating the illness so that gave him and Bobbie some story. Of course Robert and Anna were front and center. Tiffany's illness gave Sean motivation. Tony and Tristan got to play together again. Mac and the first Dominique (yeesh, egad, I coulda done without her). For all its plotholes, it really went across the canvas fairly well.

I agree that it's undoubtedly the Asian Quarter story. It had too many characters IMO and kept changing focus so it's not anywhere close to a favorite of mine.
Aztec Treasure was second in terms of number of characters, I think. And also a better story.

The Prometheus disc story also overlapped the Luke Holly Robert love triangle and the election casino storyline. One storyline dovetailed into the other. So many people were involved in all 2 or 3 stories simultaneously. Like Robert ,Holly, Luke, Natalie, Connie, Jackie, Tiffany, Blackie. The show runners were juggling a lot balls at once. What can I say it was superb writing . When soap writers were excellent and gifted. GH especially.
