I really liked the actor who played Sean, John Reilly. I think he played the part of of a man who was playing both sides of Robert extremely well. And he definitely had chemistry with Tristan. That said, I hate that Robert forgave him and that he didn't really pay for kidnapping Holly. But Robert forgives everyone. Anyone remember Anna?

i always thought it was kinda funny that John Reilly always played the smarmy, slimy guy. i saw him on three's company reruns not long ago. he was the guy cheating on his wife.
Sean.............. i don't know. i never thought he was good looking. he looked like a guy that maybe always looked old, no matter how old he really was.

How did Sean get to be police commissioner.I mean he was involved with kidnapping what not and bam next thing you know he's police commissioner.Sort of taints the office and how could he look Robert in the face on the train knowing that he was holding Holly hostage.

I suppose 5 years in soap time is a lot of time to gloss over that. Even Holly wasn't holding a grudge.

I didn't really expect her to hold a grudge, but I would have expected some reference to it. She should have been surprised to see that Sean and Robert were such good friends again.

Well Holly would have know that at the end of the Asian Quarter Storyline, Robert and Sean had made up and Robert was pulling for the pardon from the Governor (out of character for Robert). Also, Holly would have know that when Robert came back to PC in 86, he and Sean had renewed the friendship and worked together on the Mr. B s/l.
I just think that Holly was a bit too excited to see Sean in 92. There should have been a conversation about his kidnapping her. Even though they may have had conversations while she was in Australia, they should have addressed this for the sake of the fans.

I think they didn't want the fans to remember Sean's past transgressions, hence, Holly not addressing it in 1992. It was long passed and 1992 was when Sean took over for Robert as Commissioner. It wouldn't do to have a conversation about how Sean was a bad guy and hurt good people- right when they appoint him Mr Law & Order.

I liked Sean for the most part; he could be pretty funny and his wedding with Tiffany ranks as the top GH wedding in my book. But I didn't like how he was forgiven so quickly (don't forget his role in Tony getting shot) and I thought Luke should have stayed Robert's BFF... still, one of my other faves, Duke Lavery, who did do a pretty good cry, was forgiven pretty quickly, so I don't want to be a hypocrite!

Oh no, I wouldn't ever put Sean and Duke in the same category. Not only was Duke HOT but he was always conflicted about his part in the mob. Sean was only ever conflicted towards the end when he was about to be caught. Just my opinion.

No, definitely not the same category, but did some bad things and was forgiven rather quickly, just like Sean, after taking a bullet for someone. I can't imagine Duke ever being made Police Commissioner after all that, though! I guess Port Charles lowered their standards a bit after Robert - Anna was an ex-fence/double agent, Burt became a mob kingpin, Sean didn't look so bad after that!

Among that group--Anna, Duke, Sean, and Burt--the only one who really paid for his crimes is Burt. But then again, Robert did cover-up treason and never paid for that.

Well you're right he did pay for his sins and the sins of Anna in 92. I've never seen any gratitude by Anna.
What do you think would have happened if Robert had confused everything to Valentine in 85?
